A word from the captain

Dear honorary, active & passive members,

Let me welcome you to the 2020 cricket season. I know you were all looking forward to the start of the cricket season with a lot of hope and ambition, but due this unprecedented situation with the Corona Virus, our 2020 season has been put on hold. The AGM was also postponed indefinitely.

It has become tradition that our season kicks off after the AGM, at which many important decisions are made including any changes to the committee.

As of now the committee will remain the same and we will move forward as we stand. What is of paramount importance for me and the club right now is to make sure that all of our members and their familes are safe and healthy during this challenging time.

Having said that the club has made a decision to charge a small amount CHF 20 as a token amount from all its members to confirm their membership with the club (refer to the email sent to you all from the club secretary Kasun).

The club will re-evaluate what the club fees will be as and when the situation returns to normal.

So I would kindly request my fellow team members to pay in the 2020 token fee of CHF 20 before 30th April.

During this period some of you will be working from home, some of you on 'Kurzarbeit' and some at home. In whichever category you are, make sure you are all safe and spend valuable time with your families.

I will keep you all informed as soon as we know more as to when we would be able to start training, etc..

Winterthur Cricket Club

Best Regards and Stay Safe,
Winterthur Cricket Club Club Captain
