The Winterthur Cricket Club held the club's 38th Annual General Meeting on Monday 6th July 2020 (rescheduled from Monday 23rd March 2020) at the Restaurant
Tiefenbrunnen (Tösstalstrasse 76, 8400 Winterthur).
As in previous years, the Restaurant Tiefenbrunnen opened it's doors from 7pm especially for us. Although limited in numbers, the weather was good enough to hold the meeting outside in the garden.
John Hallam presided over the meeting as chairman, handing over the presidency to Jiten Patel, who became just the fourth president in the club's 38 year history.
In other changes to the committee Scott Le Page took over from Kasun Munasinghe as Secretary, Clive Denny from Jiten Patel as treasurer and John Hallam from Adam Pratt. The position of social secretary remained vacant, to be filled by the committee at a later date.
The AGM also agreed to the committee reducing the active membership fee for 2020, reflecting the reduced season forced upon us by the Covid-19 corona virus pandemic.
In other matters, the club statutes were amended to remove the ceiling for membership fees, while the position of social secretary was retained as a committee position.
In his outgoing address to the membership, John Hallam said, "I stood down as President after 10 enjoyable years. My main reason for standing down was simply that I don't believe one should go on forever, and I also believe we had a successor who would do a great job as President. I thank you all for the support I received in those 10 years and trust you will give our new President, Jiten Patel, the same support".
