Membership fees now due

Our Club Secretary, Matt Allen, outlines the upcoming season highlights and explains how to pay your 2015 Winterthur cricket Club membership fees.

Here are some highlights:
 

• First nets training will take place at Deutweg on Wednesday April 8 from 18.30 & will take place every Wednesday thereafter.
• The first match is a friendly against the Zurich Crickets Juniors on Saturday April 11.
• We have arranged a tour to Lodi (Italy, near to Milan) on May 9-10 (John Hallam will send out an invite soon). This is a tried and tested social ice breaker for the season and highly recomended for new players and passive members.
• Our annual trip to the mountains for the Zuoz tournament (canton Graubünden) will take place this year on June 13-14. This is a regular club highlight that combines fun, yet competitive cricket with some memorable social high jinks.
• Just prior to Zuoz, on June 6-7, the Golden Duck tournament makes a welcome return to Deutweg.
• Later in the season, September 3-6, we travel again to the Czech Republic for an international twenty20 tournament in Prague.

 
For those of you who missed the Annual General Meeting on March 16, the following executive committee was voted in for 2015:

Having kept membership fees at the same level for the whole Millennium (thus far), the dam finally broke this year to enable the club to keep up with rising costs, including the relaid new pitch (let's blame the Swiss National Bank as well as they take the rap for everything else). The AGM voted to raise active member fees to a still reasonable CHF200 (50% Discount for students and under-18s).
Passive member fees remain unchanged at CHF20.
