2022 season opener

Report by John Hallam

A WCC XI, with plenty of new faces, had a successful day of cricket in their T20 and T10 matches against a Nomads CC XI.

In the first T20 game, WCC scored 162 with skipper Kersley and Deesh the big run scorers. In their reply Nomads were always behind the run-rate due to a good all round bowling performance. In the T10 game the highlight was a massive 32 in a 6 ball over by newcomer Scott which enabled WCC to reach a good target of 103.

A good day's cricket for both teams to figure out where they are strong, and where improvements are required. From the WCC side the catching will definitely need to improve to back up the fine bowling.

To wrap up a good day's cricket, several of the players enjoyed a post match beer or two.
