Greetings Winterthur Cricket Club members and welcome to the 2018 season. Last year's kit room fire has done nothing to dim our enthusiasm and the support the club received from members and from people outside of the club has enabled us to get through the disaster relatively unscathed. We are now all looking forward to an action packed year both on and off the pitch.
More of that to come, but first to WCC's 36th Annual General Meeting that took place on March 12. I have attached the AGM minutes if you care to go through in detail. The highlights were the
election of a new executive committee (actually, virtually unchanged from last year, but we do welcome in new captain Mohamed Sameel).
In addition to Mo, the rest of the committee comprises President John Hallam, Vice-President Alex Mackay, Secretary Matt Allen, Treasurer Jiten Patel, Social Secretary Vinat Patel and Ordinary Members Adam Pratt and Chris Lodge.
Members also voted to keep membership fees the same as last year: Fr. 200- actives (50% discount for under-18s, students & refugees), and Fr. 20.- for passives. Please help us out by paying your fees by the end of April to the WCC club account.
Net practice begins on Wednesday 11th April at Deutweg and will take place every week 6-8pm.
Our first tour is to visit the ever-popular Idle CC, this time in Parma on 5th-6th May. There are still spots available so please contact Vinny Patel if your are interested.
Check out the website for updated competitive, friendly and tour fixtures (we intend to go to Prague again later this year). We will also inform you of a variety of social events, most likely including BBQs, curry evenings and perhaps the return of the popular golf event.
I look forward to seeing you during the course of the season. Good luck & have fun.
