WCC Family Day

There really is no other way to put it into words. Thank you to all of you who made the WCC family event, event was a success by all accounts, young and old joined in on the 6th August on what can only be described as a Mediterranean summers day.

Event kick off was for 11am. The ZSCC ladies who had just finished their training were eager to get started with the friendly game. As most of the people who had signed up for the event started coming along, preparations began for the friendly match, teams were picked. Unfortunately there were not enough players for a full 11 aside. However this provided an opportunity for 8 aside contest with some of the spectators joining in and having fun too. Special thanks goes to ladies who gave cricket a go on the hot sunny Sunday, Minda, Christine, Riyaza. You did very well.

Whilst the game progressed with team Jenny coming out on top, the setup and preparation for the BBQ were already underway. The challenge of the day was how to keep the food cool, and the beers cold. Thanks to the shady spot, Ushma and Sejal running to get extra bags of ice we managed just fine.

The menu for the day was simple - marinated chicken and Paneer which were both BBQ-catering for all diets. Potato and pasta salads, mouthwatering melon, and of course a selection of cakes to tempt everyone.

It’s was good to see cricket being played by all and the day was enjoyed by all who participated both on and off the pitch.
