Family Hike & Barbecue

Join WCC members, families & friends for a walk in the countryside on Thursday 5th May (Ascension Day) at the 2016 WCC family hike & BBQ (suitable for all ages and ideal for pushchairs).

Plans for this year's walk are being worked on as we write, but in previous years we have met at 11am at Bhf Eglisau and the group have made their way into the centre of Eglisau where they begun the leisurely hike along the north bank of the Rhine to Tössegg.

Here they crossed to the south bank of the river where they made their first stop for refreshments and had the opportunity for a dip in the Rhine.

They then moved on back to Eglisau stopping after a short while for a barbecue, where liquid refreshments (soft drinks, beer & wine) were available at reasonable prices and the members enjoyed their own steaks & sausages, bread and salads.

The walk is designed as a simple hike, ideal for families with children, but also for anyone who enjoys being out in the countryside.

So put on some comfortable walking shoes or trainers & clothing suitable for the weather on the day (swimming costume & a towel hopefully too), pack a BBQ picnic and join us!
