Cricket at Zürcher Sportfest

Cricket is to demonstrated at the Zürcher Sportfest for the first time.

On Saturday 5th September 2021, the Winterthur Cricket Club has agreed to showcase not only the club but cricket in general to the ca. 1'400 visitors expected to attend the event at the Kantonschule Rychenberg in Winterthur from 9am to 5pm.

In addition to cricket there will be a variety of clubs, sports & activities being showcased, together with refreshment stalls, family & children's activities etc..

The plan is to make this a fun event for visitors of all ages and indeed use this event to promote the Winterthur Cricket Club and cricket in general.

The committee is looking for volunteers to help with our stand and playing area. Typical tasks would be:

• explain cricket to visitors (what, why, how etc...)
• explain what is WCC (history, club, CS, etc...)
• practical demos (eg. Kwick cricket, equipment, batting, bowling etc...).

We will have a fair size playing area to show how cricket is played. You would not necessarily need to be there the whole time. You can also come and help only for some hours (this would help the others with a break etc...).
