Winterthur Cricket Club were coming off a dominating performance in their last game against the Lions, so had every reason to feeling confidant against a very strong Olten side.

Mo, won the toss (again) & decided to bowl, knowing he has a very strong bowling attack. Trying to surprise the oposition he opened up with Pip and his spin bowling. After the first over, normal play resumed with Sahan & Shijo in combination. While they both initially went for early runs, they managed to pick up key wickets and then contain the batsman. Rod was brought on as first change, after a great first over that had the batsman fishing outside off, he finished his 4 over spell with 3 for 19.
Jagath bowled out his overs and managed to contain the batsman and finished with 1 for 32 off 8. Pip got anther chance after his opening over. The batsman seeing this as a scoring opportunity, tried to hit out. So a few catches were taken and Pip managed to get a few wickets to his name.
So was a very good all round bowling and fielding effort from WCC, they were able to enjoy their lunch knowing the first half was done. Olten all out for 164.

Chasing 165 for WCC has always been a tough ask. And this proved to be no different against a strong bowling attack that Olten have.
Kasun and Ruan opened up, and were both soon back in the hut and WCC were 9 for 2. Praful and Pip tried to get the chase back on track, but found it hard to score and after many overs they were both gone with the score at 46 for 4.
Which soon became 54 for 5. Facing an uphill battle Mo and Rod put together a good partnership. After Mo departed, Jagath joined Rod and they took the score to a fighting 115 before Jagath fell. This was the beginning of the end for WCC as Sahan and Shijo fell to the very next two balls and the Olten opening bowler Sateesh had his hat-trick.
With nothing to loose Rod was left with no other option than to try and hit out. After his long innings he was finally out for a team high of 23. Leaving Adam on 1 not out as usual...

So after a very good bowling effort, once again WCC were let down by their batters. Captain Mo has some thinking to do before their next CPSL game against new comers Zug.

Man of the match for WCC: Rod, for both his Batting and Bowler.
