Player Development & Umpiring Opportunities
Winterthur Cricket Club continues to invest in cricket education, development and community participation through official training programmes.
At WCC we believe cricket development goes far beyond playing matches. Learning the laws of the game, understanding match management and contributing as officials are essential parts of building a strong cricket community.
Over the coming weeks, members have the opportunity to participate in two important development initiatives supported by Cricket Switzerland and the WCC development programme.
📚 SFOCUS Pashto Special Course

🏏 ICC Level 1 Umpiring Course
🎓 Certification: ICC Level 1 Umpiring Course
📍 Venue: To be announced
💰 Course Fee: Covered by WCC
Two members from Winterthur Cricket Club — Pritesh Bothra and Imran — will be participating in this course.
The course will be delivered by Mandar Sathe, a WCC member and ICC Authorised Assistant Tutor, giving club members a fantastic opportunity to learn directly from someone within our own cricket community.
⚖️ Why Umpiring Matters for WCC
Cricket clubs are not built only on players and performances. Behind every match are officials who ensure the game is played fairly and according to the laws of cricket.
Under Cricket Switzerland regulations, clubs must provide qualified umpires for league matches. Developing umpires within our club is therefore essential for supporting competitions and ensuring matches run smoothly.
Members who have completed SFOCUS or ECB courses within the last five years are strongly encouraged to attend this ICC Level 1 course.
By becoming a qualified umpire you help the club meet league requirements, support matches, and gain a deeper understanding of the game.
Please contact the WCC Development Officer – Mandar Sathe to enroll for the ICC Level 1 Umpiring Course.
🙌 Supporting the WCC Community
Taking part in these development programmes is not only about personal growth. It is about helping the club build a stronger cricket environment for everyone.
Every member who contributes as a player, coach or umpire helps Winterthur Cricket Club continue to grow both on and off the field.
🏏 Winterthur Cricket Club thanks all members who continue to support development initiatives and help strengthen our cricket community.
