Winterthur Cricket Club recently held its 44th Annual General Meeting, where members gathered to review the past season, celebrate the clubβs achievements, and elect the Executive Committee for the upcoming year.
The meeting reflected the strong momentum of the club both on and off the field, highlighting sporting success, growing community spirit, and several important developments that continue to strengthen WCC for the future.
π Presidentβs Report
The President, Crispin Webb, reflected on a highly successful 2025 season, marking one of the strongest years in the clubβs recent history.
π On the field, WCC secured the CSRL 40-Over League Championship, with dominant performances across the season and a composed victory in a tightly contested final.
π° Off the field, the club continues to grow steadily, with healthy finances, a strong committee structure, and increasing member engagement.
π€ Partnership with Molly Malone continues to play a key role β not just financially, but in strengthening the club culture and social environment.
π§ββοΈ Umpiring Development remains a key focus area. The club proudly celebrates an ICC-qualified umpire and continues to build a pipeline of young members investing in officiating β strengthening both professional standards and long-term sustainability.
π Digital & Social Growth has significantly improved, with increased visibility, engagement, and recognition from across the cricketing community β reinforcing WCC as a modern and well-presented club.
π Key Contributions & Recognition
π£ Suresh Wickramasinghe (Social Secretary) β driving a strong and growing social media presence, significantly increasing engagement and visibility. The social calendar for the upcoming season is already in place.
π§ββοΈ Mandar Sathe (Development Officer) β outstanding leadership in umpiring development, achieving ICC Umpire qualification and actively encouraging more members to get certified.
π Pio De Silva (Non-Executive Member) β successfully delivered fixture scheduling for the upcoming season, stepping up to support the committee when needed.
π Scott Le Page (Club Secretary) β continued to make a strong impact remotely, delivering excellent work despite not being physically present in the country.
πΌ Clive Denny (Treasurer) β provided a solid financial foundation, ensuring discipline and stability in club finances.
π» Deesh Banneheka (Team Manager) β led the transformation of the club website and digital platform, alongside key contributions to fixture planning.
π Harsha Deshan (Captain) β led the team to a CSRL Championship-winning season, both on and off the field.
π€ Tom Mampilly (Vice President) β played a key role in building partnerships, sponsorship and driving club initiatives, contributing to the clubβs overall growth.
The President concluded by thanking all members and contributors for their continued commitment, highlighting that the club is now well positioned for continued growth, stronger community engagement, and future success.
