Boris Trunec passes away at the age of 82

It is with sadness that we learned today of the death of Boris, an Honorary Member of the Winterthur Cricket Club.

The teams for SwissT20 this weekend have been named

A WCC 2nd XI took on a combined U15/U17 & Dads XI from Zurich Crickets Cricket Club in a Twenty20 fixture on Saturday 24th May and won by 4 wickets.

Twenty20 double bill at Deutweg

On Saturday 24th May there will be two Twenty20 friendly cricket matches involving Winterthur Cricket taking place at Deutweg.

Winterthur lose season opener

Winterthur Cricket Club lost their season opener against league newcomers St Gallen by just 2 runs in an exciting and well behaved season opener at Deutweg on Sunday 18th May 2014.

New pitch installed

At long last Winterthur Cricket Club (and of course the clubs that share our ground) have a new pitch, just in time for our first 40 over league game of the season.

Pitch news

At a meeting held at the Sportamt in Winterthur on Wednesday 26th February 2014, the Sportamt, Cricket & contractor reached the conclusion that Winterthur needs a new pitch. But when will the work be carried out, and who is going to pay for it?

Lodi tour 2014
On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May 2014 the Winterthur Cricket Club will spend a weekend in Lodi, Italy where they will play two cricket matches against our Italian friends Idle Cricket Club at the Radish Cricket Ground (RCG) in Lodi, Italy.

Cricket Switzerland

The now dissolved Swiss Cricket Association was rebranded on Saturday 1st March 2014 and became Cricket Switzerland.

St. Gallen Cricket Club
Winterthur are no longer the most easterly team in the country. With the introduction of St. Gallen Cricket Club we have new neighbours and new friends!

The Swiss Federation of Cricket Umpires & Scorers (swissFOCUS) have announced two dates in April, reserved for two Scorer's courses, Saturday 5th & Saturday 12th April 2014.

2014 AGM

The Winterthur Cricket Club will hold the 32nd Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 12th March 2014 at the Pizzeria Cricket Corner (Theaterstrasse 7, 8400 Winterthur) beginning at 8pm.

Cricket On Ice Tournament Report
Dresden Cricket Club won the 27th Cricket On Ice tournament with three victories over Lyceum Alpinum, Old Cholmeleians & hosts St. Moritz Cricket Club.

Members of the Winterthur Cricket Club will make up a St. Moritz CC XI at this year's Cricket On Ice tournament in St. Moritz (13.-16.2.2014).

Social Wednesday

Social Wednesday's happen every Wednesday at the Restaurant Tiefenbrunnen in Winterthur from 8pm. Come along, meet members of the club and join in the chat!

Every first Wednesday of the month the WCC Old Boys meet for dinner from 6.30pm.
