🎳 WCC Bowlers Lay the Foundation

After winning the toss, CVZ elected to bat first, but Winterthur’s bowlers quickly applied pressure.

Suresh Wickramasinghe and Faisal Otmanzai led the attack brilliantly, each claiming 3 wickets and regularly breaking partnerships. Riaz Ahmadzai chipped in with an early breakthrough, while Gianni Brusch produced a superb late spell, taking 3 wickets in just 1.5 overs to clean up the tail.

Despite a patient 44 from Harsh Bafna, CVZ struggled to accelerate and were eventually bowled out for 154 in 35.5 overs.

🏏 A Chase Full of Promise

The run chase got off to a difficult start with the early loss of captain Pio De Silva, but Suresh Wickramasinghe responded positively with a composed 30 to steady the innings.

The momentum then shifted firmly towards Winterthur through an excellent innings from Usman Ahmadzai. Batting with confidence and intent, Usman struck 50 from just 43 balls, including seven boundaries and two sixes, putting WCC firmly on course for victory.

Riaz Ahmadzai provided valuable support with 17, and at 110/5 with wickets in hand, Winterthur appeared to have the match under control.
